TUNING IN: exploring our nervous system responses
A workshop for people who want to understand the relationship between their emotions and physical responses.
Who’s it for:
Anyone who wants to learn about how the nervous system is responding to our emotions and to understand the specific ways their body is communicating both when they are feeling grounded and when they are feeling stressed.
If your mind goes blank when your therapist asks, “where do you feel that in your body?”
If you’re curious or confused about how our emotional responses show up in the body.
If you want a refresher on polyvagal theory.
If you’re wanting to experience a deeper connection and understanding of how your emotions show up in the body.
My hope for this workshop:
That people will receive information that will enhance the way they experience their body responses. Participants will walk away with a greater compassion and understanding for their body responses, sensations and emotions. Participants will understand the basics of polyvagal theory and how it applies to their emotions and sensations.
Agenda for the workshop:
Sarah will guide participants in a grounding exercise to warm up and settle into the space. From there, participants will learn about the Autonomic Nervous System, how it impacts our physiology and our emotional well-being. Participants will explore what specific nervous system responses they notice in their body and get curious about how they can be most supportive and caring when they’re feeling activated, stressed and overwhelmed.
